Gameplay
The gameplay is pretty complex to talk about. To be able to emerge victorious, you would want to have every other civilization conquered. It’s because the other way to have a win is much more difficult, and would take you a lot of gameplay to stack resources for the same – that is to take your civilisation to Alpha Centauri.
The game is about harvesting happiness among your citizens. You need to be a good leader. Make technological advancements for your people and make strongholds to prevent enemy invasions. You get to work in different environments and eras. When Napoleon was building his empire or during Genghis Khan and his Mongols controlling Asia – all these environments and many others have been added to the game.
Scoring
For scoring points, you need to have the majority of your population contented. Happy citizens add to your score, whereas unhappy do not. You can always choose to increase luxury for the people right at the end of a game to boost your scoring, however.
Each civilisation in the game is represented by a distinct colour and there are different ethnicities grouped under one colour. The following info has been adapted from their official site.
WHITE: Romans, Russians and Celts
GREEN: Babylonians, Zulus and Japanese
BLUE: Germans, French and Vikings
YELLOW: Egyptians, Aztecs and Spanish
TEAL: Americans, Chinese and Persians
ORANGE: Greeks, English and Carthaginians
PURPLE: Indians and Mongols

There’s also another group of civilisation that is meant for creating havoc and nothing else, they don’t build captured cities or produce units. They mean nothing productive. They’re Barbarians and represented by red.
