Description	FBX (Filmbox) is a proprietary file format (.fbx) developed by Kaydara and owned by Autodesk since 2006. It is used to provide interoperability between digital content creation applications. FBX is also part of Autodesk Gameware, a series of video game middleware.	COLLADA (COLLAborative Design Activity) is an interchange file format for interactive 3D applications. It is managed by the nonprofit technology consortium, the Khronos Group, and has been adopted by ISO as a publicly available specification, ISO/PAS 17506.
Technical details	COLLADA defines an open standard XML schema for exchanging digital assets among various graphics software applications that might otherwise store their assets in incompatible file formats. COLLADA documents that describe digital assets are XML files, usually identified with a .dae (digital asset exchange) filename extension.

This utility enables you to convert OBJ, DXF, DAE, and 3DS files to or from multiple versions of the FBX format. New tools are now available with the FBX Converter. You can view FBX animation files in real time with the FBX Viewer, explore and compare FBX file contents with the FBX Explorer, and manage animation takes with the FBX Take Manager.

Autodesk Fbx Converter Download Mac Software

To install the FBX Converter on Mac:

• Unzip the downloaded file.


• Double-click the .tgz file to extract the Installation disk image.


• Double-click the package icon to start the installation. The Welcome pane appears.


• Click Continue to start the installation process. The Software License Agreement pane appears.


• Read the License Agreement and click Continue. A dialog box appears asking if you accept the terms and continue with the installation.


• Click Agree to accept. The Select a Destination pane appears. Select the destination disk where you want to install the FBX Converter and click Continue.


• A dialog box appears asking you to enter your name and login password to continue the installation. Note, you must obtain administrator privileges to continue installation.


• The installation begins. A progress bar indicates the time remaining of the installation. When the progress reaches 100%, the Finish Up pane appears.
